Saturday January 16th, 2010 - Academy Ballroom Atlanta Designed to be a stepping stone for developing amateurs and professionals, the Rising Star Phase I competition aims to create an environment that is fun, friendly and encouraging for everyone. Students and teachers of comparable experience compete to showcase their dancing as they strive to reach new levels of achievement. In addition to the always popular closed and open Pro/Am & Amateur couple divisions, the Rising Star Phase I Competition features a new Semi-Professional as well as Professional novice divisions. The Semi-Pro division is a Pro/Am category for advanced students who may be seeking to eventually compete professionally while the Pro-Novice division is for partnerships in which one or both of the dancers is a beginning professional looking to advance his/her competition skills. Baby steps lead to giant steps. This is the concept behind the Rising Star Phase I. Whether your goals are just fun with competition dancing or you have ambitions for a professional career in dance, the path begins here. So, put on your dancing shoes!
